Job Title: DV Victim Advocate Program Coordinator
Location: OGDEN, UT, 84401
FUNCTION: Under the direct supervision of the Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Center Manager and the general guidance of

the Executive Director, oversee DVVAP functions to provide domestic violence victim advocacy services to victims in

Weber/Morgan Counties. Supervise volunteers in the DVVAP.


1. Required Functions: Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Must have a reasonably clean driving record, valid driver’s

license and ability to drive. Must have ability to clearly communicate by typing, writing and speaking.

2. Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to victims of domestic violence as well as victims of other crimes

as needed.

3. Prepare and coordinate DVVAP advocate and staff advocate calendars monthly in order to ensure on-call, 24-hour

crisis intervention.

4. Participate in rotating, on-call 24 hour crisis intervention, respond on-scene if needed; this includes hospital

emergency rooms or other safe and secured locations as designated by law enforcement. May also respond on a

“call-only” basis if desired by victim or law enforcement.

5. Provide education and information to victims pertaining to rights, dynamics of abuse, and available choices for

victims of domestic violence. Assist victims either as “walk-ins” or by appointment.

6.  Assist victims with filling out protective orders and Crime Victim Reparation forms.

7. Perform follow-up contacts with victims; review cases to ensure needed referrals and services have been provided.

8. Provide appropriate referrals to victims for needed services and act as liaison for client with referral agencies as


9. Collaborate with Ogden City Prosecutor’s office on domestic violence cases. Provide criminal court support for

victims in Ogden City as well as other jurisdictions as needed.

10.  Assist DVVAP Victim Advocates at Protective Order Court as needed.

11. Maintain accurate records on all clients and enter into client database.

12. Coordinate and supervise DVVAP volunteers:

  • a. Recruit and interview new volunteers
  • b. Provide ongoing training to volunteers
  • c.  Maintain and revise policy and procedure regarding volunteers

13. Assist the DVVAC Manager with grant proposals, quarterly and annual reports.

14. Attend Weber-Morgan Domestic Violence Coalition Meetings. Develop and maintain programmatic community


15.  Attend monthly YCC all staff meetings and monthly DVVAC meetings.

16.  Attend trainings as requested by the DVVAC Manager.

17. Perform related duties as required.


Bachelor Degree in social work, social sciences or related field preferred. Prior experience working with individuals and

families in crisis required. Must have the ability to assess the needs and provide supportive victim advocacy to victims

and families dealing with domestic violence issues. Excellent organizational and computer skills required as well as a

good knowledge of community resources and services available. Must show proven ability to manage and train

volunteers. Must possess valid Utah Driver’s License. Flexible schedule required.
