Our programs support and enhance the quality of life for all individuals and families by providing advocacy and education, to find hope on the road to self-sufficiency. We serve individuals from the ages of 1 day to 101 years old. Our domestic violence shelter and rape crisis center provide services 24/7 to victims and their children. As one of our clients told us, “YCC is a light in the darkness, reaching out to those who are trying to escape violence”. Please join us in our efforts to make Utah not only the best place to raise a family but the safest. Separately we can do many good things — together we can make miracles happen!! What’s Your Story? Have you or someone you know utilized services at the YCC in the past? We’re looking for people to share their story, either in writing, with a photo, or short video. The YCC has served the community for 75 years and we’d love to hear from women who accessed services in the early days too, so please pass this along to those who may not be on Facebook or Twitter. Help us find our history! Willing to share? Contact Jen at 801-689-1706. Thank you DJ McFarland!Amazing Eagle Scout Project YCC was the site of our very own “extreme makeover” this month! Over 70 volunteers joined forces with the Building Owners and Managers Association of Utah (BOMA) to tackle a wish-list of much needed improvements of the YCC buildings and grounds. Each year BOMA members come together and select one non-profit to support and the YCC is fortunate to be this year’s recipient. Projects included xeriscaping the main entrance area with rocks and drought-resistant plants, installing drip systems, and re-roofing of the apartment building and thrift store. Additionally, the gutters were cleaned, windows washed, signs and railings painted, carpets cleaned, fences repaired, trees trimmed and removed, and even a makeover of the community room is well underway.BOMA members donated thousands of dollars of supplies and labor resulting in no expense to the YCC! On behalf of the YCC Board and staff, sincere thanks to BOMA and their members, Carhartt, Weber State dance company, and all the volunteers for tireless work on behalf of the YCC and our clients.
